The language used comes off as pretentious, and to top it off, several words are even used in the wrong context, confusing the reader. For example, when functioning shopping malls are described as becoming 'ubiquitous' after the dust comes. I can only assume the author meant that malls stopped being used as shopping centres and begun to become abandoned, but the word 'ubiquitous' actually means something is found everywhere, universally present. Perhaps I misread? Couldn't finish the book, anyways.
